I Dont Fit In At School, Help!!!

Hey, well, i feel i dont fit in at school. I mean im a different genre and style to the other people (people call me scene but its not the whole slit wrists thing), ive been here for 3 years and im in year 9, going into year 10. i mean im outgoing but i cant stand the whole popularity race its really annoying and most people here are into that , i just want friends who look out for eachother and dont concentrate about quantaty over quality. i have a few friends but they have other friends out of school they see more and i dont have any out of school. They also live a long way away some of them, and all my old friends i dont see. theres also not many clubs in the area. im starting to skateboardand i play guitar so could that help. i mean i have a lot of character and im not ugly, i just wanna know if i should put time into getting popular, or if i should search for other friends or if i should consolidate on the friends i have at school even tho they all hate eachother and have other friends out of school.if anyone needs to know anything else just ask . thanks (im not being difficult i just need guidance) thanks a bundle
