Things worth seeing in washington DC?

The Holocaust Museum sounds depressing, and it is a bit, but it is very well done. It is quite haunting actually...I went 2 years ago and think about it all of the time. Lots of artifacts, including a room filled waist high with real shoes recovered from those who were killed in the concentration camps. Lots of history there...we found it very fascinating.
