Why do people call Jacob a pedo?

I completly agree with you. Its the exact same situation with Quil and Claire. But like Jacob and Renesme their relationship is like a big brother or a protector. JAcob says in the book that he doesn't even think of renesme in "that way" at all. Imprinting is a complicated situation but neither Jacob or Renesme are Human. Renesme will be fully grown and matured in 7 years like you said and probably more mature than more Adults. You have to skip over the fact that she is only 7 in human years. Renesme isn't human so why compare her age to human years.
